Shopping
Dundee, Perth, Aberdeen and Edinburgh represent great shopping opportunities and all are easily accessed by car or train from Linksview Guest House in Carnoustie. Dundee is easy by local bus too.

Across in Forfar (20 minutes by car) and Montrose you can taste and buy local produce at the Angus Farmers Markets. Montrose is the first Saturday of the month and Forfar is on the second Saturday.

Fishing
We have sea, shore and loch fishing available in Angus. Here are just a few suggestions. Locally you can try your hand from the beaches in Carnoustie or just further along at Westhaven, a traditional fishing village where a few of the men from the area go out daily to check their creels for crabs and lobsters.

Sea fishing can be combined with a boat trip out to the Bell Rock lighthouse. A local boat in Arbroath runs both fishing and scenic trips at very reasonable rates.

Try your hand at fly fishing. Loch fishing is easily available at Monikie Country Park and also at Rescobie Loch at Forfar.

Culture
There are a number of local theatres offering a wide range of productions from classical music to Scottish plays. In Dundee we have the Dundee Rep, Caird Hall and the Whitehall Theatre to choose from. There are also a number of cinemas showing up to date movies. In Arbroath we have the Webster Theatre and the Abbey Theatre.

Edinburgh and Glasgow of course have so many cultural and historic choices it is hard to know what to see. Both are just an hour or so away by train or car.
